I'm just sitting in an empty floor right now just staring at everything. It's weird.

[Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Peter... That makes Otto feel better than the teenager could ever know.]

Do you want some company?

If you have time, yeah. I'd like that.

Just approach the reception desk, the lady behind it, Janice, and tell her you're there for Peter Parker. She'll send you to the right elevator.

that sounds like way too cool and professional when i phrase it like that. oh my god.

[He's in town for his job anyway. It's not too grand a trek from Liewen Labs to the tower.]

[When Otto arrives on the top floor Peter is at, he'll find the space truly is empty of any real furniture.

Though the light fixtures remain and the windows making up the walls are in one piece. Peter sits on the floor directly under a very over designed chandelier, his attention focused on his laptop.

The pooka looks up at him smiling, his ears flicking forward and whiskers wiggling. As always he's happy to see Otto.] Hey!

[He closes the laptop for the moment, rising to his feet.]

Well, this is- it! [Peter gestures widely at their surroundings, smiling at Otto.] I have no idea what I'm doing!

[Otto had kind of been expecting furniture, but even so, the office is amazing. It's enormous, and the chandelier is pretty nice as well. He needs a few seconds to take it all in, an awed smile on his face.]

Oh... This is beautiful. I still can't quite believe Mana managed to transport this entire building to Ryslig. [He begins to wander over to the window, so he can take in the view. They're so high up right now, it's enough to make him a little nervous.]

Me either. It feels kind of weird honestly. [Peter agrees, trailing after Otto. The pooka in contrast is unafraid of the height they are at. He stops for a moment to look over the city, releasing a soft breath.

He drifts over to the side of the window to fiddle with a few buttons opening one window nearest to him. The panel shifted enough to let air in, but no one fall out.] All of this was supposed to be AI operated, so, it'll take time to make it more normal.

[A button to open the window? Otto frowns, as that's already too fancy in his opinion, but the following comment is what really overwhelms him.]

AI operated? Something as menial as a window? [Stark what the hell-] Why would he leave so much in the hands of an AI?

Well, the AI operated the whole building. [Peter explains simply enough as he looks back at Otto.] It was his AI he made, so, he trusted her.

I don't know a ton about Mr. Stark's AI, just stuff he did tell the media.

[The AI operating the entire building just makes it so much worse in Otto's mind. He trusted the safety measures constructed to keep his own AI in check too, and look where it got him.

He sighs, shaking his head.]

It's for the best that the AI is not longer present, I'd say. We'd lack the knowledge and resources to maintain it.

Yeah, while FRIDAY seemed cool, I dunno how any AI would work here. [It doesn't make him miss Karen any less. He isn't even sure if he could wish for her here.]

Just means I have to make everything manual again. I might have to hire someone to help me with it.

I've got some free time on my hands, here and there. If all else fails, I can give you a hand with all this.

[There's very few people in Ryslig qualified to help with something like this in the first place, he's fairly sure. Apart from perhaps someone like Robotnik, and do they really want him in here, tinkering with Stark's legacy?]

If you have the time, I'd like that. I figure without the AI, a lot of rewiring stuff should be easier in theory? I haven't looked everything over yet, obviously.

Well, it'd be either rewiring it towards a central, more manual control, or it'd be removing the wires entirely. Not everything needs to be handled through technology, in my opinion.

[He's throwing another glance at that window and judging. Just a little.]

[The look and commentary earns a laugh from Peter. He shakes his head a little.] I guess that's fair. I miss some technology but, this space doesn't really need an AI operating everything with voice commands.

It really doesn't. [He finally turns away from the window, facing the rest of the office again with a wry smile.] I think what it needs first, more than anything else, is some furniture.

Yeah, that's- definitely the biggest thing to solve first for this floor. [He looks around with a wiggle of his whiskers.

He moves away from the panel to the window to spread his arms wide.] What even should we put in here? Like, should it be an office? Another hang room-? There are a bunch of rooms here too! Like- a lot!

If you do make this an office, it'll have to be a shared one. This is entirely too much space for one person. [And if that sounds like a jab at Stark... He won't correct that impression.] Though, a room for the entire group to get together sounds like a better option. We could put a large table with some chairs right here in the middle for meetings. And a whiteboard.

I mean, this whole building was supposed to be for Mr. Stark and the Avengers to work in. So this was probably where Mr. Stark maybe planned on living? [Peter doesn't really know. He still has a mild bit of nostalgia for the idea of the Avengers working together.]

If WEB didn't already have a headquarters I'd probably put it here, but, maybe this can just be mine?

[Please don't say "mine" about such a big office, Peter. Please. That is a slippery slope.]

Well, it never hurts to have two headquarters. What with all the chaos that goes on on a regular basis, we'll need a place to regroup if the warehouse is inaccessible or damaged.

[Peter for his part is just thrilled now that the anxiety has keyed down.]

Yeah, that's true. Maybe I can make one floor for WEB, and one for all of us like generally? Our family I mean. [He looks back at Otto with a smile.]

[Their family... The concept fills Otto with a pleasant sort of warmth, and he smiles brightly.]

Yes, that would be nice. A very good use of the space, in any case.

Probably would be easier for all of us too, since we all kinda work or come to Bavan a lot. Just as a secondary place to stay if we needed it or couldn't get a cab. [Peter has no plans on moving out here forever, but, he does miss the city.] Sometimes its way too quiet in Hill House.
