[True to his word, once he's home from work, he'll head straight to Peter's room. Even with the door being left open, he still knocks before entering.]
Peter?

Otto! Hi! Lemme just- [He turns back to pull out the carefully rolled up schematic he had set aside to show his parent.]

Oh... It's a spider?

He spreads out the schematic a little more, gesturing as he speaks.] In theory, it could self duplicate from spare metals or other materials. So, if you needed more than just one. I have the general idea down of how they could convert things over into useable resources to create a duplicate or fabricate a tool.
[He has a very thorough explanation in this narration box to tell Otto how this works. Don't worry about it.]

That's wonderful, Peter. It seems like you've taken everything necessary into account, and its movements should be quite fluid for its basic anatomy. What sort of power source did you have in mind?

I had a few ideas of how to make solar panels built into Spider-Bot. The main body could be a lighter material to keep continually absorbing sunlight since the robot isn't particularly big. [He mimes a specific hand held size.] Anything bigger would take a lot longer to charge in theory.

[Otto's already thinking ten steps ahead and wondering how the processor will work, but he realizes he should probably dial that down.]
Either way, if they require light to charge, they can easily get settled in the indoor garden beneath one of skylights. That way, they won't actually need to go outside for the most efficient charge. It's the same for the windows at the A Tower.
pretends i can build robots for ten seconds
See, that's going to interesting to figure out, since the software is going to need to be a wish or something super rudimentary enough to be programmed here. I'm more about hardware so, I'd have to find someone who can program to make the internal programing actually happen.
[He nods readily at Otto's assessment. His ears flopping with the motion.] Yeah, it'd just need a recharge station under a large enough window, avoid actually going outside in any real capacity.

He looks down at the blueprint again, taking in the details of the limbs.]
Mmh, right, they're probably safer off being limited to indoors use. At least until there's a decent method of waterproofing them without limiting their mobility.

[Peter is trying to think of how he wants to approach this. Sure, he could wish for it from Mana, but he would prefer to make it himself.]

[As he's sure you know, Peter, as a fellow nerd.]
